conservation in action
Bosque Marea supports a growing network of land restoration, long-term stewardship, and conservation initiatives in Southern Costa Rica.
Our work begins with places and partnerships already rooted in the landscape, while building toward the strategic protection and restoration of additional land that can strengthen wildlife corridors across the region.
01
Gregorie’s Pavones Project
A living example of what long-term rainforest restoration can become.
More than two decades ago, approximately 82 acres of previously cleared and degraded land near Pavones began the process of reforestation.
Today, that landscape demonstrates what patient ecological restoration can achieve. Regenerating forest now provides habitat, strengthens the surrounding ecosystem, and creates an important foundation for future conservation work in the region.
For Bosque Marea, the Gregorie’s Pavones Project represents more than restored land. It provides a real-world example of how individual properties can become part of a much larger connected landscape.
02
Founder’s Stewardship Fund
Building conservation into the economics of everyday business.
The Founder’s Stewardship Fund directs a portion of proceeds from founder-led for-profit businesses toward local conservation and restoration work in Southern Costa Rica.
Initial support is helping strengthen native tree nursery infrastructure and local reforestation efforts, creating a reliable source of native plant material for future restoration projects.
Successful restoration also requires seeds, native trees, local knowledge, labor, and long-term stewardship. Supporting the infrastructure behind restoration allows future conservation projects to move faster and have greater impact.
03
Liikala Blue Dream Fund
Connecting conservation, creativity, and a living landscape.
The Lilikala Blue Dream Fund supports conservation-centered projects that deepen people's relationship with the natural world while directing resources toward ecological stewardship in Southern Costa Rica.
Through conservation storytelling, education, creative projects, and environmental initiatives, the fund helps transform awareness into tangible support for the ecosystems that inspire the work.
Funding can support restoration, habitat protection, environmental education, and projects that strengthen the long-term stewardship of the region.
Conservation Begins With Connection
People protect what they understand, value, and feel connected to.
The Blue Dream Fund creates another pathway into conservation, using culture and education to build support for the landscapes and species Bosque Marea exists to protect.
04
The Next Corridor
Strategic land protection is the next chapter.
Bosque Marea is identifying privately held parcels where protection or restoration could strengthen connections between existing forests.
Some of these properties may be relatively small compared with surrounding protected landscapes, but their location can make them disproportionately important.
Our goal is to deploy conservation capital where it can create the greatest ecological leverage: protecting vulnerable land, restoring degraded habitat, and reconnecting fragmented ecosystems.
